Dream out loud!

By | February 16, 2008

This is the name of the latest music band on the block. Their music, well, easy listening, smooth with lots of acoustic guitars playing all over. So why does it have me interested?

Because this band is Indian! Yes, believe it or not, we finally have an Indian band that belts out easy listening songs in English. We did have bands who were more into the heavier rock & metal, but I do not recall any Indian band that sings so clean, and has music that is easy to listen and that could appeal to the masses.

Now, where is a b(r)and manager when you actually need one?

This is what this band is up to. So what do you think?

Good to hear something different from the normal, or what I heard as normal, Indian fare for music. Let’s hope they get a following and do well.

indus creed/rock machine, colourblind, orange street, skinny alley…i can just go on n on with the list of indian bands(who used english as the language for expressing themselves) who have faded to oblivion. sumthn tells me Dream out loud is slowly heading towards the same fate. And this cannot change unless the common attitude of people here changes which is “everything IMPORTED is good” and everything indian is a spurious substitute of the west specially when it comes to music.

anyways i for one have already become a fan of DOL.

    Rock On.

Yep the problem with Indian bands nowadays is everyone wants to be a Thrash Metal.. Speed Metal.. Heavy Metal.. Pseudo Gothic band or w/ever. You do get to hear of some very few bands who try jazz and fusion.
My knowledge of the Indian rock scene has become quite fuzzy over the past ten years but as far as I can recall D.O.L are the only band who seem to be venturing into “soft rock”.
